In an interview with SynBioBeta, Lygos CEO Eric Steen describes the evolution of the startup, the value of collaborations with DOE’s Agile Biofoundry and the Advanced Biofuels and Bioproducts Development Unit (ABPDU), and the benefits to small businesses of programs such as DOE’s Small Business Vouchers. Lygos seeks to replace petrochemicals used in the manufacturing, flavors, fragrance and other industries with sustainable, bio-based alternatives.
