Previously, the Patent Group was responsible for reviewing every publication—including papers, talks, poster boards—to identify potential inventions. 

Starting in June, 2021, the authors of these papers and presentations are responsible for reviewing their own external communications materials for potential inventions, and for submitting records of invention for these potential inventions to the Intellectual Property Office, prior to release or publication/presentation.
