Want to practice pitching your science-based business idea to partners and funders? Every year, IPO hosts a pitch competition (with training and preparation offered beforehand) to give Lab entrepreneurs an opportunity to hone their skills.
To help participants prepare, IPO is offering a training video, followed by practice sessions ahead of the competition. The pitch competition itself will be held at Haas Business School (Chou Hall at Haas Business School in room N300) on October 27 from 4-6 p.m., and be judged by real venture capitalists.
There are prizes for the top three winners: $5,000 to first place, $2,500 to second place, and $1,000 to third place to cover time spent on customer discovery and business development. The first place winner advances to a DOE-wide national pitch competition which will be held in Palo Alto, CA.
Register for the pitch competition. Registration form, slide decks, judging rubric, and a training video will also be available in this Google folder.
