- LBNL Event: 10 minute pitch, 5 minute Q&A (DOE-wide Event: 20 minute pitch, 10 minute Q&A)
- No restrictions on the number of presenters or presentation medium (e.g., Powerpoint, video)
- Judging
- Elevator Pitch (e.g., Did the first few minutes grab your attention and make you want to hear more?) – Weight: 1
- Market Problem (e.g., What problem in the marketplace will this product address and how will the technology solve the problem, i.e. better, faster cheaper?) – Weight: 1
- Customer Understanding (e.g., Who are the customers and why do they need your product?) – Weight: 1
- Value Proposition (e.g., How will the product provide value to a customer?) – Weight: 1
- Competition (e.g., Who are your competitors and why are you better?) – Weight: 0.5
- Market Segment (e.g., What is the approximate size of your product market?) – Weight: 0.25
- Business Model (e.g., How will you make money in your business?) – Weight: 0.5
- Team (e.g., Is there the beginning of a team in place? Any discussion about what is needed?) – Weight: 0.25
- Financial (e.g., Any discussion about how much money may be needed to bring this product to market?) – Weight: 0.25
- Presentation Quality (e.g., Was the speaker articulate, enthusiastic, convincing, etc? Was the talk well‐organized and clearly presented?) – Weight: 0.5
